Make this copycat P.F. Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps recipe at home. This easy ground chicken recipe uses a savory Asian sauce and cooks in under 30 minutes, making it a perfect quick weeknight chicken wrap or light dinner idea.

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped water chestnuts
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions, white parts only
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 head butter lettuce, leaves separated and washed
  • Optional garnish: green onion tops, chopped peanuts

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground chicken to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until it is fully browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Add the water chestnuts, mushrooms, and white parts of the green onions to the skillet. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes until the vegetables soften slightly.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper to create the best chicken lettuce wrap sauce.
  6. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and vegetable mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Remove the skillet from the heat.
  8. Arrange the lettuce cups on a platter. Spoon the chicken mixture into the lettuce leaves.
  9. Garnish with the remaining green onion tops and chopped peanuts, if desired. Serve immediately.

  • For a low carb chicken lettuce cups option, skip any added sugar in the sauce.
  • You can substitute ground turkey for ground chicken if you prefer.
