Make this rich, creamy No-Bake Chocolate Mousse Pie using a simple Oreo crust. This decadent chocolate dessert is easy to prepare and perfect for any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups crushed Oreo cookies (about 28 cookies)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed (or homemade whipped cream)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, for melting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Mix the crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter in a bowl until fully combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Place the crust in the freezer while you prepare the filling.
  2. Make the cream cheese layer: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Prepare the pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for about two minutes until the mixture begins to thicken.
  4. Combine fillings: Gently fold the thickened pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until just combined. Then, fold in half of the thawed whipped topping until no streaks remain.
  5. Assemble the pie: Pour the chocolate mousse filling into the chilled Oreo crust and spread it evenly. Top the filling with the remaining half of the whipped topping.
  6. Chill the pie: Cover the pie loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the mousse to set completely.
  7. Prepare the topping: Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Let the melted chocolate cool slightly.
  8. Finish and serve: Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the chilled pie. You can also garnish with extra cookie crumbs or chocolate shavings if desired. Slice and serve this easy chocolate dessert cold.

Notes

  • For an even richer flavor, substitute the instant pudding mix with a homemade chocolate custard base.
  • If you do not have Oreos, you can use graham crackers for a Graham Cracker Crust Pie variation.
  • Make ahead dessert: This pie tastes best when made a day in advance, allowing the mousse to fully firm up.
