Make this simple, crowd-pleasing Cranberry Jalapeno Cream Cheese Dip for your next gathering. It perfectly balances sweet cranberry flavor with a spicy jalapeno kick in a creamy base, making it an ideal party appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce (canned is fine)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh jalapeno (remove seeds for less heat)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped pecans for topping

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Add the whole berry cranberry sauce, chopped jalapeno, green onion, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  3. Use an electric mixer or a sturdy spoon to beat the ingredients together until they are fully combined and smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  4. Transfer the dip mixture to a serving dish.
  5. If using, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top of the dip.
  6. Chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve cold with your favorite crackers, tortilla chips, or vegetable sticks for an easy party appetizer.

Notes

  • You can prepare this sweet and spicy dip up to one day ahead. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
  • For a less spicy dip, use only half of the jalapeno or substitute with a milder pepper like pimento.
  • This recipe is a great alternative to the Costco version; it is quick to prepare and always a crowd pleaser.
