2 ounces blanco tequila
1 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau)
1 1/2 ounces cranberry juice
1 ounce pomegranate juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
Coarse salt or sugar for rimming
Fresh cranberries and pomegranate arils for garnish
Rosemary sprigs for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the rim: Run a lime wedge around the rim of your serving glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of salt or sugar.
Combine ingredients: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, and simple syrup if using.
Shake well: Close the shaker and shake vigorously until the outside is very cold, about 15 seconds.
Strain: Fill your prepared glass with fresh ice. Strain the margarita mixture into the glass.
Garnish: Add a few fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, and a rosemary sprig to the drink.
For a pitcher: Combine all liquid ingredients in a pitcher. Chill for up to 24 hours. When ready to serve, pour over ice and garnish each glass individually.
Notes
For a mocktail version, substitute the tequila with 2 ounces of sparkling water or non-alcoholic spirit alternative.
Adjust the simple syrup based on the tartness of your juices. Taste before serving.
To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water and heat until the sugar dissolves. Cool before use.
