Ingredients
Scale
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup honey (or maple syrup for variation)
Instructions
Place the softened butter, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and honey into a medium mixing bowl.
Use an electric mixer to beat the ingredients on medium speed until they are completely combined and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
Stop the mixer and scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Beat for another minute until the mixture is light and airy.
Serve immediately with warm rolls, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
For a brown sugar cinnamon butter variation, substitute the powdered sugar with 1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar.
If the butter is too stiff after chilling, let it sit on the counter for 10 minutes before serving.
This sweet butter topping is excellent on pancakes, biscuits, or cornbread.
