Make these simple, warm brie bites using puff pastry, creamy brie cheese, and sweet cranberry sauce. They are a perfect, crowd-pleasing appetizer for any holiday party or gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, rind removed and cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: Chopped pecans for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a standard 12-cup muffin tin.
  2. Lightly flour a clean surface. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet. Use a round cookie cutter (about 2.5 to 3 inches in diameter) to cut out circles from the pastry. You should get about 12 circles.
  3. Gently press each pastry circle into the cups of the prepared muffin tin, forming a small cup shape.
  4. Place one cube of brie cheese into the bottom of each pastry cup.
  5. Top the brie with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce. If using, sprinkle a few chopped pecans over the cranberry sauce.
  6. Brush the edges of the exposed puff pastry lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the brie cheese is melted and gooey.
  8. Remove the easy brie bites from the oven. Let them cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before carefully transferring them to a serving platter. Serve warm for the best flavor.

Notes

  • If you prefer using crescent roll dough instead of puff pastry, press small squares of dough into the muffin tin cups instead of cutting circles.
  • For a different flavor, substitute fig jam for the cranberry sauce to make fig jam brie bites.
  • These warm melted brie appetizers are best served immediately after baking.
