Make this creamy, savory smoked salmon dip in minutes. It uses simple ingredients like smoked salmon, cream cheese, and fresh dill, making it an effortless appetizer for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces smoked salmon, flaked
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt (taste first, as salmon is salty)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese, sour cream (or yogurt), lemon juice, dill, pepper, and optional Worcestershire sauce into a medium bowl.
  2. Use a hand mixer or a sturdy spoon to beat the mixture until it is smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Gently fold in the flaked smoked salmon and capers (if using) using a spatula. Mix just until combined; avoid overmixing to keep some texture in the salmon.
  4. Taste the dip and add salt if necessary.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve cold with crackers, bagel chips, cucumber slices, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For a Keto Friendly Salmon Dip, serve only with low-carb vegetables like celery or bell pepper strips.
  • You can make this Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Dip up to 24 hours ahead of time. Keep it covered in the refrigerator.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, pulse all ingredients (except the salmon) in a food processor first, then stir in the salmon by hand.
