Make this rich, decadent fudge pie that tastes like a warm brownie in a crust. This easy recipe is perfect for holidays or family gatherings and serves well warm with ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix with a spoon until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pie crust. The batter will be thick.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The edges should look set, but the center will still be soft and gooey, similar to a warm brownie.
  7. Let the pie cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before serving. This helps the gooey center set slightly.
  8. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for the ultimate indulgence.

Notes

  • For a denser, more fudgy texture, you can chill the pie completely before slicing.
  • If you prefer a richer chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder instead of standard unsweetened cocoa.
  • This pie is excellent served warm as a Hot Fudge Pie dessert.
