Create a sliceable, comforting Spaghetti Pie that uses simple ingredients. This hearty pasta casserole bakes spaghetti noodles into a crust, layered with meat sauce and cheese for a family favorite dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound spaghetti, cooked and drained
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce, heated
  • 1 pound ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, 1 beaten egg, 1/4 cup melted butter, and 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the spaghetti is fully coated.
  3. Press the spaghetti mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie plate to form a crust. Bake the crust for 10 minutes.
  4. While the crust bakes, prepare the cheese filling. In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, 1 egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the cooked ground beef with the heated marinara sauce.
  6. Remove the crust from the oven. Spread half of the meat sauce mixture over the bottom of the spaghetti crust.
  7. Spoon the ricotta cheese mixture evenly over the meat sauce layer.
  8. Top the ricotta layer with the remaining meat sauce.
  9. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the top layer.
  10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are lightly browned.
  11. Let the spaghetti pie rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
