Make this festive Thanksgiving punch that combines cranberry, orange, and apple cider flavors. You can serve it as a simple mocktail or easily spike it for an adult cocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups apple cider
  • 3 cups cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup orange liqueur (optional, for cocktail version)
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) chilled Prosecco or vodka (optional, for cocktail version)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • Ice ring or cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine the apple cider, cranberry juice cocktail, and fresh orange juice in a large punch bowl or beverage dispenser. Stir well.
  2. If making the cocktail version, stir in the orange liqueur now.
  3. Chill the mixture for at least 2 hours, or prepare this base mixture a day ahead.
  4. Just before serving, slowly pour in the chilled Prosecco or add the vodka if using the alcoholic version. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Add the sliced oranges and fresh or frozen cranberries to the punch bowl.
  6. If using an ice ring, place it in the bowl to keep the punch cold without diluting it quickly. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the Prosecco/vodka with 2 cups of chilled ginger ale or sparkling white grape juice for fizz.
  • To make this a make-ahead holiday drink, prepare the cider and juice base (Steps 1 and 2, omitting alcohol) and store it in the refrigerator. Add the sparkling component and ice just before guests arrive.
  • For a beautiful holiday drink garnish, float a few cinnamon sticks with the fruit slices.
